Pole Barns Built on a Proper Foundation
A pole barn is only as good as the ground it sits on. Because RBF Construction has its own excavation and site work division, we handle everything from clearing and grading the building site to the gravel base, concrete floor, apron and driveway — then build the post-frame structure itself.
Pole Barn and Post-Frame Projects
- Detached garages
- Workshops & hobby barns
- RV, boat & equipment storage
- Horse & hobby-farm barns
- Agricultural buildings
- Commercial storage buildings
- Lean-tos & additions
- Barn-style homes & living quarters
Options and Upgrades
- Concrete floors and aprons, poured by our own crews
- Overhead and walk doors sized for trucks, RVs, boats or equipment
- Insulation, liner panels and heat for a year-round shop
- Electrical service and lighting, including trenching from the house
- Wainscot, windows, cupolas and color choices to match your home
- Driveways and grading so water drains away from the building
Permits, Zoning and Site Planning
Most Michigan townships regulate accessory buildings with size limits, height limits and setbacks, and require a building permit. We review your township’s rules, plan the building location, pull permits and schedule inspections. Farm buildings may qualify for Michigan’s agricultural exemption — see our pole barn permit guide.
Our Pole Barn Process
- Site visit: we look at the location, access, drainage and how you’ll use the building.
- Design & estimate: size, doors, options and a clear price.
- Permits & site prep: clearing, grading and a compacted base.
- Construction: posts, trusses, steel, doors and options.
- Concrete & finish: floor, apron and final grading.
We build pole barns across Genesee County, Oakland County, Lapeer County, Livingston County and Southeast Michigan. Request a pole barn estimate.
